About Anna
Developing a deep connection with the outdoors and passionately pursuing the captivating essence of nature’s beauty whenever the opportunity presents itself, Anna thoroughly enjoys chasing sunsets, hiking, embracing the majesty of waterfalls and exploring the wonders of the vast New Zealand landscape.
When she was young Anna envisioned a life as a photographer, she embraced art and spent her youth drawing, painting and creating paper mache models. Anna’s first camera was a second-hand Konika film camera that her father had surprised her with as a birthday present. She was in absolute bliss discovering it’s capabilities and she fell in love with it’s magic.
In 2022 Anna had cataract surgery on her left eye, the natural lens was replaced with an inter-ocular lens. The surgery improved her long distance vision however the near sightedness in her left eye was substantially diminished. The cataract was discovered when Anna was 35, shortly after Annascape was originally established.
Despite having two contrasting visual fields, over time her body and brain have learnt to adapt. Oftentimes she will edit images and read with her right eye, closing the left to prevent her eyes from straining.
Anna continues to immerse herself in nature, combining her regular meditation practice and creativity to develop her craft, journeying deeper into her artistic potentiality.
